NOTE: We are aiming for a maximum of 8 teams for the entire competition meaning there will only be 4 teams per division so all registrations will be considered and teams notified if successful or unsuccessful. 

 

SCORING

  1. A filed goal is worth one (1) point
  2. A successful goal from behind the take back line is worth two (2) points. The player shooting must have both feet completely behind the line when initiating the attempt.
  3. In the case of a tied score, golden point over time will only occur in semi finals and grand finals.
  4. Competition table will be determined on team scores. All teams competing will be automatically awarded one (1) point each. Teams who draw will be rewarded two (2) points each. A win is awarded three (3) points and a loss will remain with the automatic one (1) point.
 

LIVE BALL/DEAD BALL/POSSESSION

  1. Shoot to start to determine who will begin the game with possession of the ball.
  2. The ball will change possession after a scored basket.
  3. An opposing player must check the ball before it is put into play. The player must pass the ball at the top of the court to begin play.
  4. The ball must be taken back past the two-point line on each and every change of possession. Violation occurs only if a basket is made by the team failing to properly take it back and will result in possession to the other team.
  5. Taking back means one foot behind the two-point line.

  

FOULS AND VIOLATIONS

  1. Every court will have at least one (1) referee. The referee will call all fouls and violations.
  2. Each team is allowed 6 fouls and the penalty will result in the ball changing possession. On the 7th foul onwards a free throw is awarded and the ball changes possession if the free throw is made or missed.
  3. Continual misconduct or flagrant/intentional fouling will result in immediate dismissal of the guilty player or teams from that particular game and/or all remaining games. Fighting and or throwing punches will not be tolerated under ANY circumstances and will result in immediate dismissal.

 

TEAMS

  1. Each team must be registered to represent under a local service provider.
  2. Each team must have 3-5 players and must be registered by determined entry deadline.
  3. Teams will be grouped in divisions according to age.
  4. Players must appear on only one team for each tournament.
  5. Any player appearing on more than one will have to choose one team to play for.
  6. All games must start with at least 3 players on each team.
  7. Only teams scheduled to play are allowed to occupy the court at the scheduled time.
  8. Teams must be at the correct court at their scheduled time, even if games are running behind.
